Mobility Manager-FT
OVERVIEW OF MOBILITY MANAGER POSITION:
The Mobility Manager works with the Ohio Department of Transportation and local partners to improve/increase transportation service for persons with disabilities and older adults by ensuring that communities coordinate transportation resources through multiple local/federal/state programs. This position will be responsible for Mobility Management which, under the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) definition: "consists of short-range planning, management activities and projects for improving coordination among public transportation and other transportation service providers with the intent of expanding the availability of services." This position, funded by the FTA, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is contingent upon continued future grant funding and development of local resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Transportation/Urban Planning, Business/Public Administration, or Transportation Logistics preferred but not required as related experience will be considered. Two years supervisory experience or leadership preferred.
· Genuine interest in the Mission of Area Agency on Aging 3.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, and automobile insurance meeting the minimum requirements of the state law.
· Highly Proficient in computer skills.
· Must have a telephone.
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak before groups.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in an effective manner.
· Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its specific applications to public transportation. Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) policies, procedures and practices. Knowledge of HIPPA requirements. Preferred but not required if past work experience demonstrates an ability to learn and apply regulations.
· Knowledge of the principles, procedures and strategies of coordinated human services transit-transportation planning and coordination strategies.
· Final candidate must agree to a BCII Criminal Records Check, which includes fingerprinting and pre-employment Drug Screen at the expense of Area Agency on Aging 3.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Promotes the enhancement and facilitation of access to transportation services, including the integration and coordination of services.
· Supports local coordination with planning and policy development.
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, community leaders, government representatives, and customers.
· Responsible for locally developed Coordinated Planning as required by FTA/ODOT for ongoing funding.
· Works with VP of Aging in Place/Chief Operations Officer/Chief Executive Officer to Develop and maintain the FACTS Coalition (Future of Accessible Coordinated Transportation Services), a pro-active stakeholder group and coordinates public involvement activities.
· Develops strategies for seeking other funding sources and to leverage existing funding with non-FTA federal programs.
· This position is directly responsible to the Director of Aging and Disability Services
· Adheres to consumer privacy and HIPAA regulations.
